Kai Bar Coffee Roasters – Kilauea, Kauaʻi
If you’re craving a good cup of joe or just searching for a coffee shop with great vibes to kick back in, Kai Bar has the whole package. Kai Bar is the sister shop of Java Kai – an ultra-popular Kapaʻa coffee shop.
Kai Bar features a very similar menu to Java Kai. Fares include a lineup of tasty brekky options – think feta cream cheese bagels, lemon ricotta pancakes, avo toast, and acai bowls. Lunch features a bevy of salads, wraps, and sandwiches.
What about coffee, you ask? Kai Bar knows its way around a good brew and has the latte-art skill set to match. Both Kai Bar and Java Kai are known for roasting their own beans. It’s “kind of their thing.” The fan favorite is undoubtedly the macadamia nut latte – a simple yet scrumptious island creation. If you’re not a coffee drinker, Kai Bar has a selection of non-coffee and non-caffeinated beverages, like matcha, lavender London fog, and herbal iced tea.
Staying on the north shore? You’re in luck. Kai Bar opens at 6 am sharp – a boon in the notoriously sleepy Kilauea area. You can get your much-needed caffeine boost before hitting the beach or heading to one of Kauai’s epic hikes.
Food and beverage aside, lovers of all things aesthetic will love Kai Bar’s vibe. The interior is spacious and airy, with wooden tables, a black and white tiled counter, and a neon Java Kai logo sign hanging above a large dried floral art piece. The roomy cafe is also a great place to spend an hour or two catching up on remote work.
Kai Bar is open from 6 am to 6 pm Mon-Fri and 6 am to 1 pm Sat-Sun. You can find them at 2555 Ala Namahana Parkway, Kilauea. Check out their Instagram, @javakaikauai.
