In a small wood-paneled trailer adorned with potted plants, you’ll find some of the best coffee on the island. Although new to Makawao, Espresso Mafia is far from new to espresso- in fact, they’re what you might call espresso experts. Across the street from Rodeo General sits a small courtyard with a handful of food trucks and local vendors. Here you’ll find the husband/wife team behind Espresso Mafia cranking out delicious espresso drinks and fresh food.
Perfect Specialty Drinks
As well as staples like cappuccinos and lattes, Espresso Mafia has perfected recipes for heaps of specialty drinks, including lavender lattes, brown sugar mochas, and their most popular, the Honey Cream Latte. Try it with their homemade “mafia milk,” made with a 100% organic vegan blend of cashews, coconut, dates, maple syrup, vanilla, and Hawaiian sea salt. Espresso Mafia also offers house-made vanilla bean syrup and serves the only nitro cold brew on the island that takes nitrogen from the air, rather than being pumped with nitrogen and stored in a keg.
If you can’t make it to their truck, Espresso Mafia also offers espresso, cold brew, and mafia milk deliveries. If you do stop by, as far as food goes, you’ll often find paninis, sourdough toast with hummus and fresh local veggies, banana bread, and pastries from local bakers.
