The Kihei Kalama Village, where Lava Java is located, is characterized by its vibrant assortment of shops and restaurants and funky bustling atmosphere. Lava Java Coffee Roasters is no exception to the groove of Kalama Village. Lava Java sits in a small orange building just off South Kihei Road. Within the shop’s walls, you’ll find an eclectic array of souvenirs, a number of vintage knickknacks, and an impressive collection of Hawaii coffee.
Keeping It Local
Its unmistakable coffee shop character coupled with an impressive (and delicious) repertoire of Hawaii-grown coffee has made Lava Java a South Maui institution since its opening in 2008. Not only does Lava Java serve up some of the best coffee in Kihei, but they also offer a sweeping variety of bagged coffee to ship back home.
Lava Java’s Kula Coffee is said to be famous. This medium roast is sourced from Upcountry farmers and makes a smooth, non-acidic cuppa. In addition to Kula coffee, Lava Java offers four other 100% Maui Coffees grown in Ka’anapali and Colombian coffee. In addition to coffee, Lava Java also serves bagels and fresh pastries.
