You never know who you might spot at Maui Coffee Attic. This cozy mom and pop shop has become a favorite haunt for some of Maui’s best musicians, who often stop by for a coffee and end up grabbing a guitar from the “guitar wall” for an impromptu jam sesh. Downstairs from the seating area and front counter is a music venue area that often hosts concerts featuring amazing Hawaiian music, comedians, and magic shows. The local crowd and authentic shows are a definite contrast to the touristy entertainment of luaus in the resort areas and offer visitors a chance to get closer to the modern culture of the Hawaiian Islands.
Try New Things
Although off the beaten path, Maui Coffee Attic does not disappoint. The service is ever-friendly, the coffee is quality, and the enthusiastic owners are always coming up with unique drink specials for guests to try out. The bright purple ube frappe, made from purple sweet potatoes, is a must-try, as well as the honey lavender latte.
Maui Coffee Attic’s food menu embodies the flavors of the islands. Lilikoi croissants, ube haupia pie, and taro scones fill the pastry counter, and the kimchi quesadilla and lilikoi pulled pork sandwich are hits. Another bonus- breakfast is served all day.
